Psychotherapist / Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Frequently Asked Questions:
If you do not see an answer to your question below, please contact me directly either here or at maddie@mbudreautherapy.com.

Do you take insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with Aetna, Highmark/Blue Cross Blue Shield, United/Optum, and VCAP (Victims Compensation Assistance Program of PA). I am not in-network with Independence Blue Cross or Cigna. Hint: If your insurance includes the word "Independence", I am most likely out of network.
How much do sessions cost?
If you are planning to use one of the above listed insurance plans, your cost per session will vary depending on your co-pay, coinsurance, and/or deductible. Although I'll try my best to provide an estimate, I highly encourage you to ask your insurance directly. If you are not using insurance, I charge $150 per 53–60-minute session. I'm also happy to discuss offering a sliding scale rate - please reach out to ask!
Can I still see you if you don't take my insurance?
Yes! Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits - reach out to your plan to ask directly. If you qualify, this usually means you will pay my out-of-pocket rate ($150) per session, then submit receipts/superbills to your insurance to receive some amount for reimbursement. As always, I can explain this further if you reach out to me directly, as it is often confusing! And I'm always happy to provide in-network referrals.
Do you see clients in-person or virtually?
I offer both in-person and virtually psychotherapy! My office is located in the Ross House (401 S 2nd St) in Headhouse. I can also meet virtually through Simple Practice or doxy.me (both are HIPAA-compliant platforms).
I'm not sure if I want to work with you. Can we meet for a consultation before scheduling an appointment?
Absolutely! I'm always happy to offer a free, non-committal 15-30-minute consultation call to discuss expectations, answer questions, and provide anything else that can be helpful. This can be held via phone call or video call.
